7 Star Signature Event in Atlantic City report

We are back from the 7* event. It was quite large - apparently 2000-3000
7* people plus guests. Unfortunately not as well organized as the previous
ones in New Orleans and Tahoe, but still was very nice. A large number of
7* players were in the high roller rooms at the various casinos, sometimes
making it hard to get on any good VP machines or even slots you might want
to be on.
With all the heavy play by the 7* people there were a lot of jackpots in
the high roller area which I saw including some bigger ones. A couple of
people I know personally got royals - including one getting a $5 royal on the
first day and one a $10 royal on the last night - making them winners.

We spent some time with Coachvee, who know doubt will do a trip report, and
he got a $1 royal and he and wife ended up ahead as well. Even I lucked
out, after losing at various VP machines, then winning a bit at slots, then
losing again at 5 play VP (single joker), then hitting 5 of a kind ($4000
on single joker), then losing again on VP 5-play and slots until I was down
literally to my last $100 of gambling money....I hit a $5 jackpot on a
weirdo Triple Diamond Bonus Wheel machine (7 triple triple came in) for a
$13,000 jackpot - ending up bringing about $10,000 home with me in winnings!!!
Yeah!!!!

Unfortunately I also had some bad luck and fell over in my room (on my
rump), injuring my arm (fortunately nothing broken, but big bruises and the arm
still isn't quite right). I went to Harrahs AC nurse and she made the
World's Worst sling out of some muslin and 2 safety pins (she had no more
safety pins and didn't know how to make one!). I figured out since I could
move arm and wrist that nothing was broken (Harrahs would have been happy to
transport me to emergency room). Thankfully my friend Siona (she runs the
AC VPFree group) was with us and gave me some tylenol with codine.

The first night event was a party held at several different hotels. One
friend told me that the party at Caesars was 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10
being the highest! The party at Harrah's pool was about the same level,
with loud music and fairly poor food (in my opinion - though I was hurting
and in shock after the fall and didn't eat that much). Not nearly as nice as
similar event back in March at 7* event which had much nicer entertainment
and food.

The next night was "Dancing with the Stars" - again at several hotels
because of the huge number of people. We went to the Showboat to see Derrick
Hough (blonde, male, great dancer from the show). They had a dance floor
below a stage with a much-too-loud band. Big screen tvs around the room let
you see the dance floor -but why didn't they have a presentation on a
stage? We can watch more dancing on TV by watching the show! And there wasn't
that much dancing by "stars". Mostly a few professional dancers danced
with people from the audience. After about an hour and half finally Derrick
came out and answered questions (he was interesting) and played a guitar,
but only danced with some audience members and a couple of the professional
Showboat dancers did some very short demo dances. Food was only so-so and
the show was very disappointing. At least we got to get our picture taken
with Derrick (he is hot!!).

Next night was dinner "with Mario Lopez" - but he hardly spoke at all, and
no picture taking opportunities. Some people got a headshot of him, but
not us. ??? Dinner slightly better, but the fashion show and Lopez were
again disappointing, and no live music. Instead of spending money to hire
the Dancing with the Stars people and Lopez, they probably could have hired
a mid-range well-known singing group and had a good show for us that would
have been more entertaining.

The last day had a brunch. The one at Harrah's was excellent - with great
food. Reality star Janice Dickinson appeared, and she is very much a
character and was weird in her question-answering and stuff.

Still, other aspects were good, with each person getting $150 in spa
credits. The tough part was booking the spa since there were so many 7* people
getting treatments. Even though Harrah's hired extra people they were
mostly booked solid. Depending on your play level prior to the event, each
person also received $ for food and airfare reimbursements, with varying
amounts. We got $50 for 2 days for food which paid for our breakfast/lunches.
Also everyone got 7X base points up to 12,500 maximum and Apple gift cards
($25 for every 1500 of points - no points deducted).

I ended up playing a huge amount because of all the ups and downs, so I'm
looking forward to a bunch of 7x points eventually showing up.

It was also 2 for 1 credits for cash day when I checked out, so I got rid
of some of my accumulated comp credits for cash.

If they can organize these things a little better they definitely are a
good promotion for Harrahs because they get so many 7* people to come and play
heavily. Definitely the 7X and Apple card promotion made me play far more
heavily than I normally do. I was fortunate to come home a winner, but
I'm certain that the law of averages let Harrahs win a lot more than the
players did over the weekend.

If they hold another one of these 7* signature weekends I would definitely
go.

With 7x RC's and another 0.17% from Apple gift cards, JOB is indeed "good vp".

Nice report, misscraps. I can add a couple of things.

The Thursday night welcome party at Caesars consisted of free cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at any of 6 restaurants on The Pier. So many people were disappointed by the crowds and food that anyone who attended found an extra $100 Shopping Credit in his/her room the next day with an apology letter from the manager.

The 7x RC's was nice, but it was slimy how they hid the 12,500/day limit in the small print on the back of the coupon. I never saw it mentioned in the pre-event literature, either.

There was also a lot of mis-information about the Apple "Play & Earn". Several people were told ahead of time that it would be $50 for 1000 base points. Upon arrival it was $25 for 1500, about 1/3 the value of what was said earlier.

I went to the comped Seinfeld show on Saturday night. I thought both he and his warm-up guy were pretty funny, but I was probably expecting too much--I came away a little disappointed.

I agree that overall it was a very nice event. I managed to squeeze in a massage with my spa credit, and that always makes things seem better!

Let me ask you one question and please answer it honestly.

If you had not won the $13,000.00 jackpot, would you still have stated that you plan on returning to another Seven Star's event?

Throughout your post, it did not sound like you had a great time, as the food and entertainment was for the most part subpar.

We are back from the 7* event. It was quite large -
apparently 2000-3000

organized as the previous
ones in New Orleans and Tahoe, but still was very nice.
A large number of

making it hard to get on any good VP machines or even slots

Even I lucked

losing again at 5 play VP (single joker), then hitting 5 of

slots until I was down
literally to my last $100 of gambling money....I hit a $5
jackpot on a
weirdo Triple Diamond Bonus Wheel machine (7 triple

$13,000 jackpot - ending up bringing about $10,000 home
with me in winnings!!!
Yeah!!!!

Unfortunately I also had some bad luck and fell over in my
room (on my

she made the

people to come and play
heavily. Definitely the 7X and Apple card promotion made
me play far more
heavily than I normally do. I was fortunate to come home
a winner, but
I'm certain that the law of averages let Harrahs win a
lot more than the
players did over the weekend.

If they hold another one of these 7* signature weekends I
would definitely
go.
