7 royals in one day

I just wanted to share this with the group. Last Sunday while playing 5 and 10 play super aces I hit 7 royals in one day. Wow! I could not believe it. I also had aces dealt to me on a 10 play for $5,000. I finished up $15,000 for the day. This is my best day by far and will probably never be matched by me. Royals to all. Rick

Congratulations, Rick!!!

I visited KC Harrah's yesterday (5/31). I hadn't been there since 5/10, when areas of the casino were cordoned off and machines were being moved around.

As far as I can tell, the remodeling is done. It was really more of a reorganization of the VP machines. Most of the slot machines are still in the same place.

As such, I'm not sure what was accomplished by the casino except to inconvenience their customers. Unless your favorite VP machine was at a bar or in the High Limit Area, you'll probably have to spend a few minutes looking for it.

The good news is that all the AA is still there and with the full pay scales, but they are moved to new locations. The other "top 3 most popular" (but short pay) machines at this casino were Multi-Strike, 100-Play and Double Jackpot. They all seem to be in their former quantities, but relocated, as well.

Again, it's not apparent to me what Harrah's was trying to accomplish. They did clear a space on the 2nd level near the restrooms. I think a bank of 10-12 new machines might fit in this area. I'll keep people posted.

My wife and I were playing Deuces Wild on the 100-line machine at NYNY
about 2 months ago . We know that the pay table on that machine is horrible
but it was fun to play, for a diversion. After a few rounds, we were dealt 4 to
the Royal and proceded to get 7 Royal Flushes on that "pull" plus a couple of
"Royals with deuces" and a few straights. We cashed out immediately and
walked away winners. We only did that once.

Was there yesterday, (2 June) and agree with Carlos's report with one
exception. The 25 cent AAs are missing. There were a half dozen or
so upright machines along with an equal number of $1 machines against
a wall, second floor. The $1 machines have been moved to another wall
but the 25 cent ones are MIA.

The "reorganization" was probably so the new manager can make his
presence felt. As I recall before I retired, when we got a new
director (in our case a new General) the first thing he did was
reorganize and move everyone around. Hopefully it will settle down
for a while and the new boss can concentrate on the new hotel addition.

You're right. The "green" 25c AA machines (which I never played, believe it or not) are gone. However the "red, white & blue" 25c AA machines are still up on the 2nd level, but in a different location. So there is a net reduction of six AA machines.

The reason I never played those machines was that they were ALWAYS taken when I visited Harrah's. I guess those regulars are going to be pissed, eh?

The shuffling of the video poker machines up to the 2nd level seems to be
complete.

They are calling it "The Video Poker Zone. A new way to play!", to which
the appropriate response is "yeah, yeah, whatever".

ANYWAY, there is some good news and some bad. All the AA machines seem to
have survived, and when you see them all together in the same area of the
casino, you pretty much have to conclude Harrah's KC is probably the All
American Capital Of The U.S.

The bad news is that I looked and looked for the Game King consoles that had
the JOB 9/6 and I couldn't find them. Most of the JOB is now either 8/5 or
8/5p. There are a few 9/5 (98.45%, 19.4 variance) and 9/5p at the quarter
level. Everything else is short pay.

I wish they would get some more 100-play penny machines (they have a measly
two now) and set the pay scale for JOB to 9/6 on them. They could take a
clue from the Ameristar. They have dozen or so of these machines and they
are VERY popular. Oh well.
