7* Bermuda cruise aug 4 -- meetup

For those going on the 7 star signature cruise to Bermuda ---
I will bring some labels to wear for myself and anyone else interested, since a number of people from the list will be going like Coachvee, Harryporter, Annesez, myself and others, to wear at opening cocktail party, so we can meetup.

If you are going you should print out edocs and baggage tags before cruise to bring. It is suggested to tape those tags on luggage. (I'll have some tape too -- don't put the cruise tags on until u get to the hotel). Harrahs is giving us three specialty dinners and $200 cruise credit, which must be booked onboard only. Plan to hand carry and medicines, passport, valuables, since other luggage will be taken by porters to your room. You will have to go through security to get on board, but it is less invasive than a plane, mostly seems to be to stop people from bringing their own liquor onboard.

I'm just curious what cabins they gave for this trip. The event was full by the time I tried to book.

Anyway, I really like the Breakaway, particularly the decor. The spa suites are bigger rooms than the spa suites on the Epic, although at the expense of the balcony size (I don't spend much time on the balcony so it's a good change for me, maybe not others). I'm not a big fan about having to leave from New York so I'm looking forward to the Getaway debuting next year.

I also like that now you can book an aft facing penthouse instead of a spa suite (only applies to the penthouse certificates). When I booked the first trip they only allowed spa suites on the certificate, but now allow an S6. I never use the spa facilities, so getting a room twice the size instead of a spa pass is an easy choice for me. I haven't been on my S6 trips yet, but I can't imagine not liking the room as much as the S9.

I definitely recommend going to Ocean Blue for dinner. I'm tempted to say that the bread alone is worth the surcharge.

Have fun on the cruise. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

These were balcony cabins, which we were told were not upgradable. Not sure if anyone else did upgrade successfully, as I did not try.

The 8/4 sailing did fill quickly, but they offered an additional sailing in early Sept. to accommodate the volume of responses. No idea if it would still be open at this late date.
