50K Sagamore Cash Drawing Sat October 6th

Is Mohegan getting cheap. No gas card, no money, nada... Personally I
would prefer to recieve something than get nothing. What does everyone
else think. Have a great day. Ciao Don

I agree 100%. A 1-1000 chance of winning $10k doesn't entice me into
taking a trip whereas a $75 in points to spend does.

I think the best approach is respond to the offers you like and neglect
the others. Their marketing software should pick up these trends and
result in more of the offers you want.

Ditto here. I mean, WTF-----first they take away the birthday
dinners, then the wedding anniversary perks, then like Don said. What
next? Charging admittance to the 3 lounges? No more free rooms? Maybe
take out the FP PKM?

Excuse the rant--- I dropped $2K this past Friday----Ughhh.

I'd rather the 1 in 1000 for $50K. That's got an E.V. of $50 which,
in my opinion, is better than 75 points. Its the law of big numbers
and long term results. Off to RENO, Thursday on semi-junket from
Harrah's. Wife is Diamond. Fly's from Providence. Airfare/nights at
choice of Tahoe or Reno Harrah's property. We got a car and staying
in Harrah's RENO. BACK Monday night. That's sweet!

(See message 79049 on motherboard about changes/long term gambling.)

I used the 1-1000 as a estimate guess. Anyone have any idea how many
invites are normally accepted?

In your preference for the $50 EV, did you factor in the 1099 and the
tax liability (which can't be offset with gambling losses) that will
follow for any drawing winnings of over $600 from that casino in a
calendar year? A pretax EV of $50 would probably be somewhere around
an after tax EV of $35.

Caribou,
Your right on the tax consquences.
You note 1099 not offsetable. I remember discussion on motherboard
that 1099s recvd as a result of gambling (invite to drawings) is
offsetable.
That being said, there will be tax consequences both at Federal and
State level. Significant tax consequences. Hmmmmmmmm

The cabaret theatre was filled with standees and all seats taken yet
only 2 or 3 of the 10 names drawn were present. I would estimate
there were 2000 or so entries yielding a pre-tax EV of $25. The food
was some appetizers taken aound by waiters which was inadaquate. The
lounges ended up being mobbed. On the plus side they gave each
enterant 75 points which was unexpected. If they had informed us of
the 75 points the entry pool would have been even greater I'll
speculate.

I also found (1) $5 9/6 DDB machine. If you're

--- Hi Joel,
Dori and I were there also. We didn't win anything at the drawing
either. The cabaret was only about 1/2 full so it was worth the ride
especially when Dori was playing DB and the machine was sticking so
she banged it and accidently played 25 coins. She got two aces on the
deal and then got two more on the draw. This is the third time this
year she has done that and all three times she hit quads. She later
hit 4 Ducks and 5OAk on Joker. All in all a good day as I held my own.

Hi Mel,

I agree it wasn't very crowded but I still didn't win.
The 200 pts was nice. I've been booking all of my flts
through MS travel. Fla a few weeks ago, Vegas in Oct
and Dec and Fla in Feb. It's a pretty good use of
points.

Anyway, we'll be there for the Celtics, Fogerty, the
Cirque shows and Howie Mandell.

Anyway it was nice hitting my first royal in almost
two years.

See you there.

I've booked flts, cars and hotel rooms through MS
travel.
Find the flt you want and it is 1.6 pts per $1 plus a
$50 fee.
For cars it is only Avis and Budget that they can
prepay.
