50 play

Played 50 play JOB at Harrahs. I'm a newbie to VP and long time lurker. Time to get my feet wet. Over several hours I got 2 royals at .01, 1 royal at .02 and 4 royals at .05. Was I incredibly lucky or is this normal for 50 play. The 4 royals came 10JQAh and drew Kh four different groups.

Assuming that you can play 400 hands per hour on 50 play, in two hours
you will play 400 x 2 x 50 = 40,000 total hands, which is about one
royal cycle. So, "on average" you can expect one royal about every
two hours at 50 play. Of course, they don't hit on such a nice
regular schedule. Sometimes you will get an abnormally high
number of royals in a short time (like you describe in your
experience), and sometimes you will play for 12 hours straight and not
get a single one.

You should also feel fortunate to have hit 4 royals at once on a "hold
4" royal draw. It's actually quite easy to completely whiff on this
type of hand.
