$5 reel play "too strong" for Palms!

When my husband and I didn't get mailers for August or Sept. for the Palms, after playing for several hours on $5 reel slots in July(like Top Dollar) as well as some VP, I tried to find out what happened. I finally got through to a marketing person, who said that a couple of months ago the Palms took a look at 30 MONTHS of activity to determine which players were "too strong." Even though we play a lot of DDB and reels and some NSU, we somehow got on the "too strong" list so now will get zero mailers. Meanwhile plenty of people who are disciplined and play only VP, continue to get mailers, since they stick to 9/6 JB which is an "ok" game there!

As I talked to the Palms guy he said I had won $35,000 in 2008. I knew this couldn't be true. Sure enough, when I checked back on my records, it turned out the Palms accounting (and the people who were deciding who was "too strong") had counted a number of jackpots (W2Gs) twice. My husband and I play together, with me seated, and all W2Gs go to me - zero to him. But apparently when his card was inserted, the Palms accounting listed a W2G as "his" as well as "hers" when only 1 W2G was issued for me.

So actually in 2008, which was in fact a winning year, we had won about $11,000. But 2009 was a loser, not a winner year.

I called back the marketing guy and explained this, and I also pointed out my play on reels, but apparently we are still on the "too strong" list. These people are nuts! Also when I said I played DDB, the guy said that was a "positive" game! What? It only pays about 98.8%, while 9/6 JB pays off about 99.6%. JB players at the Palms get mailers, but apparently DDB players are "too strong" - what!!???

I've never heard of a casino looking at 30 months of records to determine mailers. Further, you would think that my NSU play on machines labeled "no promotion" machines would have been discounted anyway, and that any mailers would only be for my play on Reels and maybe some DDB machines that are not labeled.

But no - apparently we are "too strong" despite $5 reel play, other reel play, and DDB, and will now get zero mailers, even if we just play reels!

Fooey - Palms your marketing people are crazy!

And this apparently explains why some people are getting no mailers now (because of a 30-month 'test' of some sort). It also apparently no longer matters if you win or lose in 1 month or what you are playing. It is based on some sort of 30-month examination of your play, and poor accounting! (By the way, in July when I played on the $5 reels I lost $$, but it just didn't matter because of the previous 30-month study of play.)

The thing is - I can play NSU across the street at the Gold Coast and get way more in mailers than the tiny Palms mailers anyway, not too mention, if I want to play reels I can do so at any casino in town and get better mailers at the Palms. The only reason I was playing at the Palms is that it is so close to me. We've been playing there for 10 years - reels and VP both -- now a slap in the face.

So no mailers for us - sounded like the decision was forever, despite what we might play in the future, since we had "failed" the 30-month exam.

So in turn, from now on, our only play at the Palms will be NSU, if that.

But really - if undisciplined me, who is playing a mixture of reels and DDB and NSU is "too strong" for mailers - who isn't?

Since you will get no mailers from Palms for playing NSUD why not play the
FPDW prog at Palms. Granted it's only $.25, but positive Ev

DO they stil have 9/6 other than quarters? The $1/$2 3/5 plays look like it was converted to 8/5 Bonus Poker.

Why would you continue to give them ANY play after being told you will get no mailers when you can play the same game across the street? They're punishing you, punish back by not giving them one more dollar out of your pocket!

I would agree to NOT play there at all. You're only a short ride from many hotels. Try the Orleans or RIO. Go down the road to Bills. If I were you, I'd try the Silverton and get their many promotions. At your level you'd get plenty of Free PLay. I'll give you a host if you need one.

Meh who needs the Palms anyways that place has gone so downhill. I used to love eating and gambling there. Look at it now it's just a giant nightclub with little reason for anyone but that crowd to set foot in the place. I would definitely not consider playing reels there, they tightened up their slots like no tomorrow. It's very unpleasant to be there at night when the clubbers start taking over the place.

The Rio??? their payouts stinks, they are home to below 97% VP
