$5 match plays at Bill's Gambling Hall

A girl is often standing outside Bill's Gambling Hall (corner of Flamingo
and Las Vegas Blvd) (former Barbary Coast) handing out coupons. Often she has
$5 match plays. She might even hand you extras if you ask. Today she didn't
have them, so we asked, and she handed us 4 of them. With that plus the one
we found lying inside, we managed to lose 5 match plays for a total of $25!
Great couponing to you!

You know, people generally don't realize how valuable those things
are. Each one you get is like being handed a $2 bill plus 40 cents
change.

Back in the day, I used to do the "coupon run", and even 20 years ago,
with far less casinos, you could pick up $100 in an afternoon's work.
I would imagine that there are still people out there slowly
assembling a bankroll from matchplays, etc. When we were REALLY hard
up, a friend and I used to double up and then bet Pass/Don't Pass or
Red/Black simultaneously, thus "guaranteeing" something close to the
EV of the combined coupons (the 12 at craps on the comeout killed one
of our coupons on occasion, along with the bet, but that was only a
1/36 chance; the 0/00 at roulette was a much bigger risk, killing both
bets, and only being 1/19, so we only did the roulette thing when the
craps boss was making frowny faces at us).
