I finally got comped at LakeSide Inn, in Tahoe, so I'm going to watch the fireworks over the lake and stay there (Although I will probably be playing in Reno during the day.)
Where's everyone else going to be?
I hear they're not doing the Fireworks at Rancho San Rafael...

With all your play at the Nugget, you will probably get a comp offer from them for a VIP party and viewing section for the Nugget fireworks - will probably arrive in your mailbox 2 or 3 weeks prior to the 4th. There was an article in the paper a couple weeks ago that said the downtown fireworks were discontinued due to the economy and the popularity of the Nugget display.

Actually, I think I got scaled back, because my usual monthly offer EXCLUDES the 4th of July...unless they're going to send me that seperately...
In any case, I've never watched the fireworks from Nugget, so maybe I'll have to try that...
Curious about the Lakeside Inn offer for the 4th. Do they have a viewing area for you down on the Edgewood beach? I will be there on a MontBleu offer. Also, what are you playing at the Lakeside? I stopped going there when they took out the pick'em. Lot's of short play vp, but maybe they stuck in something good and worth a look see?
As a side note, I was at Lake Tahoe about 10 days ago and looked in at the Horizon. How depressing! They took out the table games, and only have 200 machines operating in that vast space. Two of the three bars had all the vp bartops dark. Even the slot club was closed (go to MontBleu the sign said) A bartender told me they are operating on a temporary gaming permit, and in about 2 weeks it will be better. Hmmm.

I'm not sure if they're doing anything official for the 4th...we usually go stand on top of the Horizon parking garage to watch the show...
Nah, I only play craps there (10x odds with $2 minimum), and SOME of that "3-way action" vP, only to pass the time.
Interesting about Horizon being so empty like that...I always had good luck on their 50/100 play machines...
