388/389 Casinos in N San Diego County

There are 4 casinos served by the NCTD buses 388/389 (one goes clockwise, the other counter clockwise, thus I call them the 388/389 Casinos which are Pala, Pauma, Harrah's Rincon, and Valley View( in N San Diego County. The question is which has the best VP for low level play and which is the best for the non-smoking player. Any opinions welcomed. Note, figuring in value of the slot club definitely OK. Thanks

It's been awhile since I played in SoCal, but Valley View had a non-smoking section at the time. I am not sure what their low level play was like or is like. Rincon has never been good for low level play to my knowledge. Pala might be the best bet for low level play as they at least used to have NSUD. If it is still there, that would be your best bet, but it can be quite smoky there.

Pala is good if you like JOB 25cent single line, but it is smokey. Pala does have some 6/9 JOB with progressive in the non smoking section, but they are $1. Valley View has by far the best non-smoking section in SoCal, but from what I remember the video poker selection was small and often short pay.

At Valley View I think the best a 25c player can do in non-smoking is play one line of the 100 Play, and then the best choice is 9/6 DDB.

But wander outside non-smoking and the 25c VV player has far more options than Pala. On any of the many scattered Spin Poker simply choose "Play 1 Line" and you get your pick of 9/6 Jacks, 8/5 Bonus, 9/7 DB, 9/6 DDB, 9/7 TDB and NSUD.

I also feel that Valley View's mailer is far superior to Pala. It always includes a daily promotion that gives you a little something, a coupon for $$ off food (or free buffets which are well worth it), some weekly More Play and other small perks.

And by the way, for those California players sensitive to smoke, avoid the Spa Casino in Palm Springs which I feel has the worst air quality of any casino in the state. Even the waitresses way back at the far corner of the buffet complain.

Have only been to Valley View & Rincon but between the two would say VV is better for low stakes. Recently used the 388 to go from VV to Rincon.

NOTE:
388 bus service is MON - SUN from 5:03 am - 9:11 pm counter-clockwise
389 bus service is MON - SUN from 6:03 am - 10:15 pm clockwise
IT'S ABOUT 2 HRS BETWEEN PICKUPS, so plan carefully. Think it's $1.25 or $5 for a day pass.
