3 to a Royal vs 4 to a Flush

I have leaned the correct strategy for 9/6 JoB. You hold 3
to a Royal vs 4 to a Flush. I am now learning 10/7 Double Bonus
strategy. This VP version has you holding 4 to a Flush over 3
to a Royal. I understand that Double Bonus pays 7 for a Flush
and this must be the reason for the change.
  However, I feel that I would rather hold 3 to a Royal. I guess
this is because I have gotten a couple of Royals with that 3 card
hold in 9/6 JoB. I can train myself to automatically hold the 4
card Flush in this game. I was wondering if any of you feel
like I do and wonder if not holding the 4 card Flush is a serious
misplay that I simply not make.
  While on the subject, in 9/6 JoB I do not like holding a low
card outside straight over a 3 card straight flush. I do play
this correctly, but I often feel like violating this strategy
rule. However, I think I get almost as many Royals as Straight
Flushes in my play so this corect play is easier to do. Also,
since the reward for a 5 coin Royal is significantly differect
than ths 5 coin straight flush return, the situation is much
different than in the 10/7 Double Bonus question.

Actually, DB strategy is more a little more complicated than that, because the flush4, High Pair and RF3 hands are kind of mixed together according to the specifics. For instance a flush4 with 3 high cards is > RF3 (TJQ or JQK) which is > High Pair which is > other RF3. Simplifying all that to allow the play you want to make would best be done like this:

High Pair Any 3 Card RF 4 Card Flush, 0 thru 2 High (with 3 high you play the rf3)
                      
This will lower the expected return from 100.17% to 100.12%. You will get a few more jackports (the rf cycle drops from about 48K hands to about 43K hands), but win a little less money in the long run. This is a personal choice and I'm only offering information, not advice.

4 to a Flush beats 3 to Royal if royal includes 10 and Ace, plus a
straight penalty card.
eg:
Go for the flush:
AC QC TC JD 2C
AC KC TC QD 3C
Go for the royal:
AC QC TC 7D 2C
AC KC JC QD 3C
