25c Machine Royal Flush at Barona today

Today I was playing the 9/6 25c Bonus Poker Deluxe (99.6%) at Barona
(on the machines that Bob Dancer has certified as the 'highest-paying
VP in San Diego County') when I got a Royal Flush for $1000. I held a
suited Jack/Ten, and up popped the Ace/King/Queen of the same suit!

This was after playing 480 hands, and not getting a single quad. I was
down about $110 at the time. I like to play this game, because any
quad pays 80, or $100 on a 25c machine, and sometimes the quads come
easily. But if the quads don't come, you can't stay afloat. Today the
quads were missing, but the RF came instead!

This statement suggests you think going this many hands without a quad
is really unusual - it's not at all.

Yes, I know. According to Video Poker for Winners, after playing 480
hands, there is a 32% probability of not getting even one quad.

And a 1.9% chance of getting at least one Royal Flush.
