24 hour cycle for slot club credit

One item that might be worth discussing is the 24 hour period for
accumulating slot club points. I just came back from the LV Hilton
for a three night trip. I took a late flight into LV, so I got to
the Hilton at 11:00 PM. My concern was about the wisdom of
immediately playing VP. Since the Hilton (and I am sure most other
properties) judge you on a daily average, I figured I had to be
careful. If the accumulation period started at midnight, I would
only have one hour to accumulate coin-in credit for that day - which
would kill my average on a three day trip. I asked around, and was
finally told that the "day" ended at 4:00 AM on table games, which
was the end of the graveyard shift. Nobody knew for sure about the
VP day.

I ended up going to another casino to play the rest of that evening -
one where I rarely accumulate much playing credit, and started at the
Hilton the next day.

Has anyone else had any experience with trying to "play the clock"
for the maximum daily coin-in average?

I always play the clock if I am at a casino where I care about my daily average .
I never play past midnight on my last day of play.
I never play the morning that I check out.
I won't start playing on a day that would not give me sufficient playing time before midnight.

Regards
A.P.
