239 coins vs 250

I regularly play a Bonus Deuces wild game that pays $1250 for a wild royal
flush. I would cry if they cut that back so I only won $1195 for each wild
royal. Living in Nevada with no state taxes this would be a huge penalty.

On another note, why does 100%+ video poker exist? Manaufacturers and
casinos don't place these games so we win and quit complaining. Many 100%
games are placed because people play the games so poorly that the casinos
actually feel bad that the games are "over holding". When a casino buys a
poker game the casino has no idea what the hold percentage for that game
will be (manufacturuers generically say 2% below optimum for most games).
For example, a casino will decide to place a new poker game and they want a
4% hold. If they place the new 99% optimim poker game and it turns out the
people that play it are playing it so poorly that it is only paying back 94%
it is likely that they will increase the pay schedule to 101% so those
people who play at 5% below optimum will now get to play longer and the game
will return the desired 96%. Believe it or not, the casinos really don't
want you to lose too fast because they know you are not likely to play that
game again if you do. They would rather have the average person playing a
96% game until their daily bankroll is depleted than having that person play
a 94% game. Granted that this is just an example, but a few years ago WMS
put out a poker game that was optimally around 105%. The game failed
miserably, and not because people were beating it. Players just didn't like
the game.

a few greedy pros overplayed it ensuring its early demise

Casinos want to make as much as they can as fast as they can. if you live near Atlantic city you will see billboards touting 95% payback on SLOTS!!! There is no 100% VP in AC no more. Doesnt matter if people pay poorly or not. If a machine is not generating the expected level of return it is pulled and replaced usually something with a poor pay scale.
