I cast a vote, but perhaps it would be useful in these polls/votes to
have a "don't know" or "no preference" option for all polls, whether
Hall of Fame or Being a Casino Manager, etc. That way you would know
how many just had no opinion as opposed to ignoring you.

Thanks. This is exactly why I asked my question.
I felt compelled to cast a vote, just because of the posts.
But, I really have no opinion on the subject.

I cast a vote, but perhaps it would be useful in these polls/votes
to
have a "don't know" or "no preference" option for all polls,
whether
Hall of Fame or Being a Casino Manager, etc. That way you would
know

The site acts like it allows multiple voting by the same computer.
Is this so, and if so, then that should be corrected.

I definitely agree. There should (IMO) always be a "none of the above" choice.

Actually, Id rather see a "several of the above" --- as in the
Heisman Trophy balloting, in which voters rank their choices 1 thru 5.
My problem with voting is that my journey from the dice tables to the
VP banks was aided by quite a few of this year's nominees. Even if I
use wildly subjective criteria to narrow my choices (style and
attitude, e.g.), I'm left with Kelly and Hughes --- not individually,
but as a team. The web site they used to run together was simply the
best source of vp info available back in the day. And for those of us
who liked a few laughs with our max returns, the lads were pretty
damn funny, too. VP, they frequently reminded readers, doesn't
always need to be a grim trek to the land of many decimal points.

Here are the rules for the Baseball Hall of Fame, which I always
liked and could be adopted:
The duty of the Screening Committee shall be to prepare a ballot
listing in alphabetical order eligible candidates who (1) received a
vote on a minimum of five percent (5%) of the ballots cast in the
preceding election or (2) are eligible for the first time and are
nominated by any two of the six members of the BBWAA Screening
Committee.
Electors may vote for as few as zero (0) and as many as ten (10)
eligible candidates deemed worthy of election. Write-in votes are not
permitted.
Any candidate receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the
ballots cast shall be elected to membership in the National Baseball
Hall of Fame.
Actually, Id rather see a "several of the above" --- as in the
Heisman Trophy balloting, in which voters rank their choices 1 thru
5.

I definitely agree.
There should (IMO) always be a "none of the above" choice.
IMO, some polls benefit from these type options and some don't.
I don't believe they are/were needed in the 2006 HOF election.

Well, I, for one, need the "none of the above" choice right now.
I voted, but then changed my mind.
