Newbie again here, way over my head with this group but here goes with a couple of questions: I have two questions that are based on background info below...
I primarily play regular slots and some roulette and have just started to play VP (actually learning on Dancer Winpoker).
My regular slot play (.25, $1 multi lines, $5 single line) gets me three days at Caesars AC room comped, 3 days room and snack bar food comp at Borgata. I do have to call before and ask for my host (or customer care rep as the lower roller hosts are referred to).
I play more at Mohegan sun & Foxwoods because they are closer to MA. Those casinos do not comp rooms BUT give a discount, depending on play (eg: I play more than hubby, therefore my room offers are $10 cheaper from $59 to $99 BUT only for one night a week, midweek!)
It has been my understanding that slot points are given at a higher allotment rate for regular slot players, since they do not usually spend as much time on one machine..VP players can make a doller go a little longer.
I am not local to a casino so my trips are not that frequent. I find I would like to spend an hour or two each day of a three day trip at a VP machine for fun and a change of pace. Again it is my understanding that the VP strategy is designed for long term and frequent play rather than someone with my habits.
My TWO questions are:
1. What is the difference in ratio for coin in per point of regular slots vs VP (understanding that casino's vary)
2. Would I be better off NOT to play strictly to the strategy for reaching a royal, and take the payoffs that are more likely, but much less money? (I do find that if I practice play using strategy I get less "payoffs" than if I go for the lower pay possible hand)
Thanks!
