Today I got 2 royals back to back--does anybody know what the odds
on that are?
The answer is........it depends
The major factor that it depends upon is how you define the question. If
your question means "What are the odds that the NEXT TWO hands will both be
royal flushes?", then the answer is approximately 1/40,000 times 1/40,000 or
.000000000625. If your question means "I just hit a royal. What are the
odds that the next hand will be a royal?", then the answer will be approx.
1/40,000 or .000025.
Other factors include what type of game you're playing and what strategy
you're using, and if you have your lucky _________ with you :-).
G'luck
Gamb00lin Fool(s)
Congratulations! That is fantastic. I've never heard of that happening before, although it probably has. The odds of that happening depends upon the game you were playing and the strategy you were using, and whether you are speaking about Natural Royals or Wild Royals.. You can check the details for the average frequency of a Royal and then multiply those numbers together; your odds would be one divided by that number. For example, if you were using Perfect Strategy playing JoB 9/6, the average frequency of a Royal is 64.345748 out of every 2,598,960, or about one every 40,390 hands, so two in a row would be about every 1,631,352,100 hands. If you were using Optimum Strategy instead of Perfect Strategy, it would be slightly different (if could be more frequent or less frequent, depending upon the effect that changed strategy has on the Royal), and of course, errors would affect it as well.
Cheers.

That's amazing! Those odds are very very high. I think the 1 in
40,000 odds are the one to use.
It reminds me of a story I heard 4-5 years ago from a slot person in
the Station Casino. She said she paid off a big slot jackpot, which
was an odd amount like $5005. So the guy takes the odd amount ($5)
and sticks it into a $1 VP machine ... and gets a Reversable Royal
Flush ... a $50,000 jackpot. Is that story true? Who knows, but she
said she actually witnessed it.

I am going to give the odds BUT, Jo my wife had it happen at Rio on a
Progressive in August she first hit the DDB for $1100+, I left and as I
returned she was getting Paid, I commented that it was sure a slow payment.
She said look the this is Clubs and the one you saw was Diamonds. Yes on the
1st push she hit it AGAIN $1001 for a true Back to back. I have also seen
twice someone get Royals only 5-10 hands apart, so you never know. Tom

BIG WOW. Congrats - that is incredible.
The closest thing I had to that was the day I received my very first royal
ever - I got another one about 2 hrs later, different machine.
