2 Consecutive Dealt Royals

I've had one dealt royal in my VP career, and the machine locked up
immediately after the deal.

Now, what's the probability of throwing away a dealt royal flush, and
then getting another dealt royal flush, on the SAME HAND?

While that is the norm, I am sure that there are some machines out
there that don't automatically hold a royal. I would imagine this is
definitely true of any game where a royal isn't the highest payout. To
not give the player an option to throw away the royal in hopes of
getting a better payout would have to be a violation of some sort of
regulation.

I've had a few royals dealt, on at least one of which I had to hold
the cards and draw, and I've heard of at least one other person who
had to do the same. I think that tended to be true of older machines
more than newer.

I've only had two dealt royals over a 25 year period of playing VP.
One was at the Peppermill in Reno and one was at the Golden Nugget
in LV. In both cases they were dealt on newish M/G TITO 8/5BP
machines. In neither case were the cards automatically held by the
machine.

I have had other jackpot hands such as quad aces+kicker, 5OAK and 4
deuces dealt on several occasions. None have ever been held
automatically.

As another poster pointed out, the auto hold feature can be fraught
with peril. In the event that, in the excitement of a dealt royal,
a player does not realize that the cards are already held, and by
attempting to hold them, in fact, accomplishes exactly the opposite,
and whiffs away a RF! SOB!!
