1st Reno Trip

If you are into old or special cars the Automobile Museum is a few blocks away. Used to be. Bill Harrah's private collection. It's huge.

The river walk park is a few blocks away.

There's a free little yellow bus that circles around downtown from art museum in south (free on Thursdays) to UNR to the north. Beautiful campus, great for a walk.

The old Art Deco post office is open as shops. Take a camera this building is amazing. Just on other side of river.

Great info.
Thanks, Bill

Here’s a puzzler. My first trip to Reno was in 1964; I was 19 years old with fake ID. Poor fake ID. First memory was hitting a hand pay jackpot in Sparks. I guess you could call it a hand pay because I was only aware that only a few chips hit the bucket when I knew there should have been an avalanche. To a 19 year old, anything that makes a racket is an avalanche. Well, thinks I, maybe they’ll all fall on the next coin in.

Nope

Wonder how much I left on the table. I called the gal over but way too late.

Going back, here’s the big question: there were four casinos downtown on Virginia street. Four casinos whose names started with the letter “H”. Harold’s, of course, then Harvey’s then ???

No Hiram nor Henry. Now Harrah’s is maybe the biggest casino conglomerate in the world and where are the other 3 H’s?

.

Great info.
Thanks, Bill
