I hear a lot of objection, which is fine, but no proposals. What do you all propose we name the category of DW games that share the 1-2-3-4-4 base paytable?
These are just names and labels. I'm fine with whatever name we want to assign to it, if we can all agree. Several months ago, I proposed using "NSU" as the category name, and I still don't have any problem with that. As I stated, we've done the same with JoB, BP, DB, DDB, etc. These no longer refer to just specific paytables, but now also refer to entire categories of paytables. While most people assume "9/6 JoB" when JoB is mentioned, we can also specify a variation by saying "8/5 JoB". So "NSU" or "NSUD" would still retain their "10/6" assumption, while saying "15/9 NSU" would give the variation.
Another argument in favor of using "NSU" as the category name is that everybody already knows what the basetable is, i.e. 1-2-3-4-4-10-16. So when I say "15/9" NSU, you immediately know what that means even if you don't like the "misuse" of NSU. If we come up with some other name like "XYZ", saying "15/9 XYZ" won't immediately convey what we're talking about. Over time, though, the name will gain acceptance. Sounds like it's time for a survey.
Oh, and Harry, we do call "swans" and "turkeys" by the same category name - "birds"
And sometimes the category name is the same as the creature - "lobster" can mean "spiny lobster", "maine lobster", etc. Notice the prefix designating the variation
