Greetings from Las Vegas, Home of the Monthly vpFREE Lunch:
I recently received the following request from a vpFREE member:
···
***************
I am curious if the people on the list would be interested in a VP
game with a pay schedule that maxed out at $1199 on a one dollar game.
There are an infinite number of possibilities for pay schedules, but
for talking purposes something like a JOB game with a paytable of
5,10,15 20 30,45,125,800,1199. Overall payback of 99.6933% and a
variance of 8.11817, or a dueces game at
5,10,15,20,20,35,75,195,1000,1199. Overall payback of 99.5267 with a
variance of 14.39.
Do you think it would be worthwhile to conduct a poll? If there was
genuine interest in such a game, then IGT or Williams might try
selling it to the casinos. This would be strictly a visitor play
because I don't think the casinos would put in positive games with the
low variances associated with these $1199RF games. If you think a poll
would be worthwhile, do your own thinking about what it should really
ask.

I think this is an interesting question and have set up the
following poll -
***************
Assume that you are a LV visitor to Bellagio who wants to play VP,
and you have only two machines to choose from:
1. "$1 - 9/6 JoB"
2. "$1 - $1199RF JoB" with an ER that is about the same as 9/6 JoB
and VAR that is about 1/2 of 9/6 JoB
Would you:
A. Play 9/6 JoB exclusively.
B. Play the "$1199RF JoB" exclusively.
C. Split your play between the two machines.
