11/14-11/16 Reno Trip Report

This will be short, because there's not too much to tell.
Got in friday night, with free weekend / $200 freeplay @ JANugget.
The $200 freeplay was in the form of four $50 chips.
Played craps, $50 line bet, won 3 of them.
Promptly went and changed the winnings into actual $$.
Walked across the street to SilverClub to play $1 craps...played for
a while on the $50, but eventually lost it.
Came back over with my $100, and put it in my "Aces Faithful" 25c
10/6 DB machine....within the first 10 minutes, I scored Quad Aces. I
was dealt a pair of Aces, and held them, thinking nothing of it, and
wham, AAJ came in for AAAAJ. So I said, yay $200+, and kept plugging
at it (Figured I'd play it down to an even number) Then about 20
minutes later, was dealt AAA2x, and held the AAA, and wouldn't you
know it, the first card (from left to right) was an Ace...then I
thought, "damn, I shoulda held that deuce also!), but ohh well, $200+
again. So, once more, I wanted to play it to an even number....this
time, not more than 10 hands later, I was DEALT 53333, and so I held
the 3333, and crossed my fingers for the A24 to come in...nope, drew
a 6. Again, $100+ how could I complain??
So I cashed that ticket out with $500 even, and walked back over to
Silver Club to try my luck again at craps (I play at SilverClub
because they offer 3x odds)...No Luck, -$100
So, I came back to Nugget and dropped another $100 on PaiGow poker
(after the guy next to me, said he had just hit a RF+RoyalMatch at
ThunderValley)
Tried craps at Nugget, because a hot shooter was up (who made nothing
BUT 10's last weekend) alas, even he couldn't overcome the amazing
schill of a boxman they have at Nugget (I swear this guy could cause
Dominic Loriggio to lose!), put down another $100 FAST.
So, I called it a night, being at only $200 (basically the freeplay I
started with)

So I started off saturday on a good note...went downton to Club
CalNeva and played their 5c (10-coin) 10/7 DB Prog bank...within 5
minutes, I had reset the 234 progressive, then just right after that,
I reset the RF progressive (only holding a LONE KING OF SPADES!) for
$425.
Cashed that out with $500 straight, and had $100 left from the
earlier $200....So I was at $600 straight. Just kinda putted around
after that, went over to Atlantis and played at the bar in the
SkyTerrace (non-smoking, and great drink service). Came away down $10
(was only playing 5c Caveman Keno, to get the drinks really)
Went back over to SilverClub to play craps, didn't win or lose, broke
even and then called it a night.
So this morning, we woke up and wanted to try the $5.55 buffet at
Terrible's Rail City...I have to say, the buffet is a joke (it's just
one CAFE that has a small buffet line in it) but for $5.55 you can't
really expect much...however, the overall casino quality was
definately acceptable (nowhere near as bad as people say it is!)
Played 25c 9/6 JoB and the worst possible 4oak I could make, I
made...Quad Aces! for only 125 quarters, ahhh! So I switched over to
my favorite (3-6-9 Keno) and managed to hit a 7/9 with a solid 6/6.
So we left Rail City with $750, and headed back over to CalNeva in
attempts to get to $800 straight...well, as luck would have it,
playing the same bank of 10/7 progressives as yesterday, I hit Quad
Aces RIGHT OFF THE BAT, then my mom hit the same thing RIGHT after
me, and I managed to score Quad 3's right after that. So, while we
just wanted to get to $800 straight, we managed to get all the way up
to $900 even.
So, all in all, I have to say, this was one helluva lucky weekend, as
it's been six months since I've scored a RF...and considering this
was all off of a $200 freeplay offer, I'll take the $900. : )
