1040 tax question: summarizing W-2G's

Tax preparation software (TurboTax, e.g.) requires (or, at least,
encourages) entering each W-2G separately. During 2008, I received a
fairly large number of them from one casino. Keying in the pertinent
information from each of them will be tedious and time-consuming. Has
anyone summarized his or her W-2G's by creating only one per casino?
If yes, did you get any flack from the IRS? What date did you use?
I've searched the IRS website and "Tax Help For Gamblers" but couldn't
find my answer.

Last year I keyed in all my w2gs while using the web version of Turbo
Tax only to find out that it wouldn't let me e-file because I had too
many w2gs. It said that if you had more than 30 (or maybe it was 30 or
more) w2gs, you had to mail in your return. So if your fairly large
number is over that limit, don't waste your time keying them in. Even
if you have less than that number you might want to consider filing by
mail just to avoid keying them all in. I think when you e-file it
sends the w2g info, but when you mail it in you don't need to send any
w2g breakdowns (although you would want to send copies of any w2gs that
had tax withheld).

You only need to enter the ones that have tax withheld (also send copies of
those with the return). All the rest you just total and enter as additional
gambling income later in the interview.
