100-play quads

We left work early, drove from SF to Reno through the Sacramento rush hour traffic. Must have been at least 10pm by the time we got our bags in the room, and settled into the 100-play machines in the "cave" at Atlantis. Couldn't have been more than an hour when I had this peak experience:

The use of signature links is a time honored tradition on the internet,
and are OK on vpFREE, as long as they don't link to vulgarity or
pornography.

The posting and discussion of off-topic subjects are inappropriate
on vpFREE, but welcome on FREEvpFREE.

I didn't peek in any window, it is a link right there. That said, vulgarity allowed, write a vulgar blog on Rammadan insted of Thanksgiving and see how popular that is.

The thing you are complaining about is two clicks away from vpFREE,
and doesn't even use the word "Thanksgiving." The closest it comes is
an brief oblique reference to the Mayflower and Pilgrims, and that's
one sentence way the heck down in the 4th paragraph in the middle of 6
long paragraphs about fall/autumn in general. Furthermore, the
profanity is not directed *at* the Mayflower or the Pilgrims.

So it seems to me that you had to go through a fair bit of effort to
interpret this as an attack on Thanksgiving, which makes Cogno's
remark pretty on target.

Thanks, Linda. I've been going to Atlantis for years, and have often enjoyed the Super Double Bonus 100-play. A great charm of low-denom SDB (as compared to JOB), is that you can get a big payoff on dealt quads Jacks-thru-Aces. These hands are more reasonable to dream of, as opposed to a dealt Royal, which I've never gotten in my life.

I'd put in many hours on those machines in the Atlantis "cave" without getting a dealt bonus-quad, so it was satisfying when it hit. And it helps soften the blow of a looong royal drought.

I knew it was a big deal when I saw the 4 kings, but it took me a moment to calculate what the playoff would be. And then to gently kick myself for not playing 99-hands instead.

It was nice to go up $1200 at the very beginning of the trip. There was risk of losing it back during the rest of the weekend. But I was with friends who are less intense gamblers than I, and we spent much of Saturday watching the Giants game. So I didn't have time to lose the profit. Though I did lose over half of it, before hitting $1K quad deuces at the NSUD $ prog at the waterfall bar.
