I was at Mohegan Sun and on atleast 2 machines in the old poker room
the Pickems were full pay. Some one may want to double check, but I'm
99.95% sure that they were full pay. -Russ

Was at MS today and can confirm fp Pickems, all the machines on the
bank I was able to check except one have it. Pays 1 point per $90 in.

Well at least that's one good sign. Maybe next month they'll reduce
the comp rate by 2/3 when they bring back the gas/gift cards.
But honestly, I'm not at all surprised they didn't give anything for
October. They've really needed a test marketing month to determine how
well their promotions have been working. The best thing you can do as
players is avoid the place this month, and then play heavy next month
when they bring them back, especially the $1 PKM's. At least that
shows that their promotions work, that people care and notice the
paytable changes, and demand good incentives to bring about business.
The worst thing that can happen to us is that people end up not caring,
gamble anyway, and their net profit goes up because they gave less
away. Then they get rid of the promotions dept., and replace them with
reverse marketing people who explore where they can safely downgrade
more machines w/o players knowing or caring.
I have been using the VIP line more often for events at the arena. At
least there is always someone there and you can call often and get
someone different so they don't think you're pestering them. Even if
they're "sold out" for a show you try again just before a show and
sometimes get a favorable result. They've even let me show up 5
minutes before a game at Arena services, run my card, and give me seats
when there were many not picked up yet. Because you're more anonymous
on the phone line, I know if I get denied, I can increase my play
before I try to "butter up" my own host.
I've noticed when picking up tickets at the Sun games this summer,
they'll be an A, B, or C after my name on the sheet. They divide the
tickets into 3 different categories with A being the best. They won't
tell you what letter you are, but they don't stop you from leaning over
the table and seeing for yourself -- and I've been pretty obvious about
it too. I've seen my letter change with my play.
The Schaghticokes and Eastern Pequots recognition decisions will be
Wednesday and rather final. Successful appeals by either side will be
unlikely. The State's A.G., opposing any casino expansion, stated if
he loses he will tie it up in court as long as he can. That would be
the time to write the state legislature.
