I understand your point. However, I've spent a lot of time investigating & discussing this subject with a number of casinos that have, over the past 3 years, reduced pay tables or terminated machines. And it remains to this day, the ONLY machine I've ever been told that was removed because it was getting hammered was a $10 8/5 (3X for four 7's) BP upright at Ramada Express. Not conjecture. Not speculation. Just fact from the General Mgr. Susan (Murphy I believe). Then look at Reserve & Suncoast. The 'wolves' have always played there. But it is also a fact that BOTH places reduced only because they were directed to improve take. One way to do that is thru promotions. Another is by reducing pay tables AFTER they bumped up promos. Whether any one group was 'killing' the 100%+ machines is only a matter of opinion. From my research and my own sense, I would never believe that they do. Others might....or rather, others might want to. No machine is ever put on a casino floor with the expectation that it will not make money--regardless who plays it.

Why would Rainbow put in so many higher-limit positive machines when theorists proclaim they'll beat the heck out of them--effectively closing such a minor operation down? That's exactly why I'm still after Tuscany to do the same as they did. I like the place, and I'd like to see them survive. Instead, they come up with a stupid 4-to-the-royal promo that even I might have played if I lived there. These 'good plays' won't last forever anywhere when it comes down to improving on operating profits. But while they're there, it's like the old saying "1% of $500k is better than 3% of $100k".
