I completely agree. I probably should have preceded my previous post
with the statement that I agree with virtually all you have been
saying about alternative strategies. As a matter of fact, I have
often played a reduced variance strategy in progressive chases.
However, I can never remember being in a situation that would call
for playing a higher variance strategy than the max ER strategy. For
most serious players, I think that variance increasing strategies are
mostly just of academic interest. I do believe that there is real
value in exploring and understanding alternative strategies in some
reasonably common situations - way more than the pennies to be gained
by playing penalty card situations correctly. Keep up the good
