So what's a bdc flea?

My best guess would be: "bob dancer class flea".

I don't know "shortpay Dan", who I believe coined this acronym,
so I can't tell you with any degree of authority, but this
definition seems logical to me.

BDC FLEA- Bob Dancer class flea. An individual who previously either was completely clueless about FP video poker or who would bang away on a negative game(usualy 8/5 BP or 9/6 DDB)until they were 'enlightend' at one of Dancer's seminars. The huge explosion in the bdc flea population that occured roughly between 2002-2006 mainly caused the mass slaughter of Nevada's quarter FPDW and FPJW inventories.

VPFREE FLEA-More or less the same as a bdc flea, but instead was spoonfed the location of all the positive quarter/half dollar/dollar plays via Vpfree. The imformation was posted here chiefly by short-sided/moronic individals, most of whom saw thier own bottom line slashed as the great opportunities they blabed about were subsequently burned down by the VPfree fleas. Such gold mines that fell victom were Monte Lago,Hilton,Main Street Staion and Key Largo.

BOA-Burn Out Artist. An individual whom aquired and five or six figure bankroll's by hammering away on a great EV play. These individuals are savvy, extremly disiplined, and very dedicated. They're fairly easily idetified by displaying any or all of the following characteristics: playing two machines, backward ballcaps, a can of energy drink nearby, listing to ipods or wearing headphones, pounding multi-play machines at lighting speed, and a look on their face that would intimidate the most hardened of mafia hitmen.

BOAD-Burn out artist deluxe. Basicly a BOA on steriods. These cats have six sometimes seven figure bankrolls and are usually attacking high denom games w/ marginal positive returns but 100+$/hr. potiential.

You forgot posture! Actually, this could apply to every class you
mentioned, but I had never seen people play with both legs up on
either side of their machine until the last several years. They look
like they really, ahem, LOVE their machine.

This post was really funny. I guess it's the truth in it that makes it so funny. Sadly funny. lol

I think I am beginning to understand how some of the old timers who have been doing this a long time are kind of pissed off that the cat has been let out of the bag and the overall quality of inventory has declined so. I think I would be pissed off too if I was in the same shoes. But I don't know what can be done about it.

I am personally grateful for the knowledge I have learned from reading Bob Dancer and VPFree, but I'll tell you one thing, if I discover a good machine in a secret location, I'm not going to tell anyone. Not even my own mother.

Hey, Tom, you must have missed seeing me - I've been playing with this unladylike posture for 18 years. If I don't sit this way, my neck and shoulders become painful in just a few minutes. I do have fibromyalgia, but this may be the reason anyone might use this "loving" posture.

Just my two cents. I think Jean has a very good point about the posture. I think that that position (at an upright straddling the machine with your legs) is much better for your back. Just pull the chair up really close to the machine so your short arms can reach the buttons without straining. I'm about the same age as her and recently I have found that the slant tops are giving me a backache--so I guess that the elimination of many of the slant tops doesn't bother me anymore. Katy

Might start carrying a pillow to put behind her back because I enjoy hanging out in the Hostile Grape wine bar!

I also think they're worse than the old uprights for comfort - but I don't hate them as much as Chris does. I'd prefer the buttons be flat against the machine vs. on that little narrow shelf.

I would think an Industrial Engineer with experience in ergonomics could do much better -- I assume the manufacturers have one on staff or at least use one for consultation? Likewise a little more consumer research and testing would be in order. I bet an Industrial Engineer from the Toyota plant in KY could do better!

Yesterday, playing at the Oneida casino, I saw a woman carrying one of the casino wastebaskets around with her. You know the ones, the smaller size that some casinos place between the upright slot machines.

She would sit at a machine and then place the wastebasket on its side and then put her feet on it. I asked her if that made it more comfortable? She said that since her hip surgery, it did make things easier on her. Being goofy, I also tried it and it did help provide a more ergonomic position as I played the machine.

FWIW,
