War means loss of life. Accept it. Saddam is gone, we've saved

9-11 commission found absolutely, positively NO LINK between Saddam
and Al Q. Saddam never threatened the USA. Best I can tell, he
eliminated a bunch of potential terrorists. I don't know where you
get your "saved hundreds of thousands of lives" best I can figure,
we've lost about 2000 of Americas sons and daughters. I would
personally refuse to fight in a war started by men who refused to
fight in a war.

In comparison to W's heroic Vietnam service?? Kerry is still a
decorated war hero. W is a deserter.

Here's something that a slide-rule carrying geek wouldn't understand,
because there's simply no way to measure it and slap a statistic tag
onto it: People who are true sports fans for teams that have a
history of not winning, then all of a sudden those teams become great
champions, are happier. It makes for a more enjoyable life. It doesn't
make the person any better directly, but the effort put forth by that
person will certainly be charged with a positive motivation. It's a
good thing.

explained yesterday, I made the announcement up front--and tell why.
That's hardly misrepresentation, and certainly not being dishonest.

I don't think that's true. The fact that one becomes more successful
and relaxed as time moves on has a lot to do with it. Worrying about
trivial the things we did when we were young becomes almost non-
existent. I notice this in traffic all the time. I used to be in a rush
day and night and drove selfishly & irresponsibly. Now I never hurry,
and I sit back and watch all the yuppies chase their day away. I
believe the trick is to keep entertainment ahead of one's health on the
curve, because once a person's health deteriorates, I expect there's
little enjoyment. Sports was always big for me growing up in Mass., and
even though I don't go to nearly as many games as I once did, I get
more pleasure when my teams win. I've heard many Red Sox fans say they
wouldn't mind if they died now that their team won. There's a lot to
that if you don't look too deep. The feeling is good--better than a
royal flush.
