7 Star Trip Report

I love reading 7 star trip reports and information. While I have the action to easily make 7 Stars, I choose not to
because ...
a. The places I play at give me about 1% extra EV
b. The places I play at give me about $5000 ( extra over HET ) per year in free play and cash back
c. The places I play at , give me 40 or so full pay/near full pay class VP games, not available at any HET.

My only beef about AC trip reports are that they should not be double posted.
AC centric stuff belong in ACVPP not this forum.

just my 2 cents...Tom

I don't care, either, Schatsa. That's why I just hit the delete key
and move on to the next message.

There are plenty of others who do the same.

I agree with Tom. There are so many more casinos
(other than Harrah's casinos) which offer much better
paying video poker. I doesn't make sense to me
to play video poker at any Harrah's properties.

I don't think I've ever seen a post in this Yahoo! Group which
explains why Seven Stars is worth $1,000,000 coin-in on the
kind of video poker that is found in Harrah's casinos.

I know all of the benefits of Seven Stars and it still doesn't
make any sense to me.

How does Harrah's get video poker players to wager that kind
of money in their casinos?

I really enjoy reading the trip reports. I don't live in Vegas, so anytime I can read about someones exploits, I enjoy it.

I found it interesting, but the subject has the words "Trip Report" in it so you know what to expect before you click on the message. If you aren't interested in how someone else's trip went, just don't read it. No need to be rude.

Harrah's is well aware that there is a fine line between a hobby and an
addiction.

Good point!!! It might be the reason all the downgrades don't seem to hurt casino vp profits.

Cheers

I think it is all on a case by case basis. Some people enjoy the way Harrahs treats them. And so they "look beyond the numbers" to justify returning again and again. It's their money, and the VP math may not justify it, but it's not for me to question their decision.

Most of my play over the past 10 years was at MGM-Mirage properties. The overall blend of VP options, casino room & food quality and customer service met my expectations. I felt respected whether at T.I., Mirage, MGM or Bellagio.

I also had a quite a long history at Caesars, and later Paris. Yet both were never the same once Harrahs took over. So, in spite of heavy marketing ploys, I backed off. I'm staring at an invitation for a Caesars $2,000 Forum Shoppes post-Thanksgiving shopping event. I have no intention of attending. Yet others loyal to (and happy with) Harrahs have already jumped on the offer and happily planned their trip. I won't go down that road, but they will.

To each his (or her) own.

There is also a fine line between a hobby and mental illness........

I don't know that we are typical, but until this year we found and played 100% games at Harrahs locations outside of Las Vegas. We were lucky enough to stay even and enjoyed the comps. As these games disappear we have contined to play at Harrahs properties at a declining rate but I must admit Harrahs has made money on us this year. We are now exploring other casinos.

If we ARE typical and the removal of the even money games is an intentional business decision(a big if)then it may represent a short term business outlook - a kind of one-time cashing in on patron loyalty - that may not be inappropriate in the current economy. Like having to sell your stock even though the market is down.
